Visiting Tania’s studio has easily become one of my favorite things to do and has been a blast every time, her ability to create with someone else in the room is something I have never myself been able to do.  I spent hours this past Saturday night helping Tania tear an old rotary phone apart to mount onto her next work in progress.  Everything I said wouldn’t work, Tania proved me wrong.  If she wanted to cross thread a wood screw into a machined insert… she cross threaded a wood screw into a machined insert.  Two nerds being super tired and delirious we made the best of it and had a ton of laughs as usual while geeking out to some jams on her sweet iPod speakers.  With the lack of energy to leave for dinner Tania had the genius idea of having the Burger Garage deliver some grub for our lazy bums.  We ate our delicious meal, drank some wine, laughed some more, took some pictures, drank some more wine, all while she painted until we finally called it a night @ 5:30am.  She’ll ask you 100x over if you’re bored out of your mind but I don’t think she’ll ever know how incredibly fun it is to visit her studio and help with her projects.  Not sure how keen she’d be if I gave away her works in progress so here’s a few sneakers I’ll leave you with. If you don’t know what a Whoopie Pie is…. go home. Maine is known for a few things: They keep trying to explain Paul Bunyan but I’m pretty sure we stole him leaving us with Lobster, Red Hot Dog’s, Pine Tree’s, MOOMBA, & WHOOPIE PIES! Whoopie Pies are a delectable treat for your sweetest tooth turning any day into heaven. Right now just so happens to be a little debate going on in Maine’s decision making department which I like to refer to as the Great Whoopie Debate, It’ll probably go down in history. Maine is trying to figure out whether the Whoopie Pie or Blueberry Pie should be Maine’s state dessert. How about we keep it real and go with the one that no one else has… & don’t keep pumping people full of that “It’s too fattening while we’re trying to cut the obesity rate in Maine” bologna! It’s Dessert… do you suits not remember what happened to Violet in the first Willy Wonka??!.. Dummies. Let’s be original for what we have that’s different instead of trying to be healthily correct.

SO, short on time, I brought on a super talented friend/ artist Tania Alvarez for the design. She took the overall feel of the shirt in a direction I never would have thought to and I LOVE it! She gave it the old side of Rt. 1 motel/ diner/ ma & pop “everyone’s welcome for a snack” feel and on top of it all, adding the distressed look gave the shirt a great vintage feel. Leaving me excited for the next project with Tania as you should be too!

The economy is rough and my hands are washed of it. With 12 years of carpentry under my toolbelt I’ve decided to start a line of wood products. These products wont be available until sometime in January but they will range from small Kitchen, Bed, & Bath items to stylish shelves & furniture. Finish work is always my favorite part of constructing new homes so I’m a perfectionist when it comes to the quality of every miter, joint, and seam. Artist panels will be another product I will focus on, selling pre-made sizes as well as requests for custom sizes. I’m super excited to get into these projects so 2011 should have some interesting additions to MFM!

After being an Apple fanboy since the early 90′s I thought it would be fun to use an Apple product to give back to MFM Screen Printing clients. Music brings out some funky moves around the press printing your products & creating artwork in the hive. Also, I never knew that iPod shuffles had this fun little clippy on the back that you can bite onto your shirt, bangs, sports bra, elbow skin or any clippable location of your fancy!
